About the position

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for managing the daily operations of a mid-size flooring warehouse. This includes picking and staging daily jobs, preparing materials for daily jobs, accepting and properly storing inventory, and labeling inventory. The worker ensures that work orders, status updates, shipping/receiving confirmations, and material returns are entered into the company inventory system. They monitor inventory to ensure accuracy at all times, process freight trucks, conduct monthly inventory counts, identify discrepancies, and reconcile differences. Additionally, the worker organizes and maintains the cleanliness of the warehouse and facility, as well as the responsible outside area, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to two years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience must involve warehouse operations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, shipping documents, and material instructions.
  • Ability to write correspondence and prepare other documents as needed.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure for basic algebraic and geometric calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of computer workstations and peripheral equipment; experience with various computer applications including database, spreadsheet, email, and word processing software.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to view documents, multiple screens, and read handwritten documents.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs.
