Join the COASTAL CREW! Coastal Beverage Company, Inc., the leading beverage distributor in Eastern North Carolina is looking for a WAREHOUSE TEAM - YARD DRIVER CDL-A. As a WAREHOUSE TEAM - YARD DRIVER CDL-A you will move trailers in and out of loading doors according to needs and safely operator tractors and drops and hook trailers as needed, operate a forklift safely, and cross train and perform other warehouse functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18
  • possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess a minimum of three months similar or related experience
  • possess a valid CDL-A license and maintain acceptable motor vehicle records check
  • ability to operate forklift and/or walkie-rider/electronic pallet jack experience
  • possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, bar graphs, and procedure manuals
  • have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • possess basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • possess the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent
  • professional appearance and demeanor
  • possess the ability to perform physical work

Nice To Haves

  • Prior distribution warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Warehouse Team Members have trailers to unload and/or load.
  • Move trailers in and out of loading doors according to needs (may include loaded trailers to be moved, empty trailers to be placed in doors, etc.).
  • Safely operate tractors and drops and hook trailers as needed.
  • Inspect trailers for damage prior to placing at the dock.
  • Ensure that all trailers are parked correctly on the lot.
  • Cross-train and become capable of helping and filling in on the baler; wrap, load, unload empty pallets, and proactively assist shift when not actively switching trailers.
  • Operate forklift according to Company and regulatory requirements, keeps certification up to date and reports all accidents immediately. Complete daily pre-ride report to document and report, physical damage, and/or mechanical or electrical problems with forklift. Maintain fluid levels on assigned forklift and ensure that it is kept charged.
  • Maintain clean and organized working area by cleaning and reorganizing while working. Responsible for immediate clean up of all spills and damaged products, reporting same to Supervisor or manager for documentation. Complete partial pallets and puts away mixed pallets.
  • Wear all required PPE (personal protection equipment). Load orders following safe work habits and safe lifting techniques. Report near miss incidents and unsafe work situations or conditions. Immediately report all accidents and near misses to supervisor or manager for documentation, investigation and correction.
  • Make trips to offsite locations as needed including fleet vendors, landfill, service centers etc.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
