Operates machinery that converts wastewater in drains and sewers into a form that is safe to release into the environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent - or GED - Required
Forklift certification - Required
Distinguish between all primary colors of the rainbow.
The ability to multi-task must be a quick learner and able to adapt to change.
Skills/Competencies: Average-above average English and mathematical skills.

Manufacturing experience - Preferred

Responsibilities

The ability to read, follow, and understand the procedures.
The ability to read and understand formulations and accurately calculate chemical concentrations.
Identify and understand the properties and hazards of chemicals used in the treatment process.
Monitor the performance of all equipment.
Maintain log of operations and record meter readings.
Monitor environment equipment to assure regulatory compliance.
Interpret meter readings and test results to determine load requirements.
Coordinate repairs and modifications with the maintenance department.
Operate and maintain the pumps and motors that move water and wastewater through the filtration systems.
Troubleshoot processes and equipment.
Collect samples for analysis
Keep records that document compliance.
Ability to identify, communicate, and mitigate if possible all unsafe behaviors, conditions, and spills.
Operate forklift and conduct forklift inspections.
Department Specific: Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Certification in Confined Space Rescue, Hazmat, First responder, Fire brigade.
Participate in continuous improvement programs.
Attend Safety Meetings, Site Safety Meetings, and Safety Tours.
