About The Position

We are seeking a Wastewater Operator for assignment in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The selected candidate will l earn and gain skills involved in wastewater treatment, visual inspection and basic maintenance of equipment, and manual/auto control system servicing and repair of process treatment facilities . Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm This position requires a valid Florida Class C Wastewater Operator License Candidates must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and shift work as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• A valid Drivers License
• A valid Florida Class C Wastewater Operator License
• 1+ years of experience in operating wastewater treatment plants is required

Responsibilities

• Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water, wastewater, sludge, etc
• Operates manual valves, gates, and hand/off/auto controls, and human machine interface (HMI) controls to start/stop pumps, engines, valves and generators to control and/or adjust flow throughout treatment process facilities
• Collects samples, conducts flow meter readings, and field measurements of specific parameters throughout process treatment facilities and stream adjacent to treatment facilities
• Performs routine laboratory analyses for process control measures as well as specific permit reporting as trained and assigned
• Documentation of process control measurements, meter readings, process treatment activities, laboratory analysis results, and preventive maintenance, daily equipment inspections, and repair work; both manually and digitally
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shift work as assigned
• Perform operations, maintenance, and repair work in and out doors under a variety of safe weather and working conditions
• Work tasks include climbing stairs, ladders, prolonged walking and standing
• Safe and proper use and operation of hand tools, power tools, and motorized equipment as trained and assigned
• Development of a commitment to personal safety and the safety of co-workers is essential
• Basic understanding and ability to operate a computer
• Performs custodial and other duties as assigned
