About The Position

Peak’s Wastewater Operator is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a wastewater facility during a scheduled residency. Ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment, and other wastewater treatment equipment are always operational. The essential job functions include, but are not limited to Monitor effluent to maintain compliance and adjust treatment regimen as needed. Monitor inbound waste loads to ensure they meet the proper inbound parameters so that the waste will not negatively impact the plant's health or compliance status. Interacts with and directs driver to adhere to safety procedures while on US Ecology property. Reach out to other operators and manager as needed for assistance on how to treat waste when issues arise. Promptly report equipment malfunctions, waste spills, and other issues to supervisor. Records daily system readings and inspections as needed. Enters data into information systems and maintains system records. Keeps records of equipment maintenance and repairs. Keeps logs and records of waste received and shipped off-site. Collects and processes storm water samples as needed. Performs indoor and outdoor maintenance of the facility to ensure a tidy and safe work environment, to include weed trimming and grass cutting, as needed. Performs other, related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Possess a valid Texas Drivers License.
  • Must maintain a good driving record and abide by all traffic laws, rules, and regulations when operating a company vehicle or equipment.
  • Must obtain/maintain a Class “D” Wastewater Operator Certification and achieve a class “C” Wastewater Operator Certification within 2 years of receipt of the class “D” certification. Training Offered.
  • Communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Read and log both analog and digital information.
  • Properly utilize personal protection equipment as required by appropriate safety protocols.
  • Operate powered hand tools.
