THE ROLE: A Water Consultant is an engineer with modeling water networks skills and a passion for using data to improve urban watershed environmental and societal impact. This position offers the opportunity to join Xylem Vue team in their endeavor to revolutionize the ways water utilities solve age-old infrastructure problems. In today’s rapidly changing digital solutions landscape, water utilities are trusting Xylem to lead them in their smart water journey; earning this trust begins with excellent software products, and delivery processes that embody the highest levels of technical integrity. The successful candidate will demonstrate how past experiences and education, combined with a passion for improving our industry through digital services, will lead to a highly motivated water project delivery team focused on client success. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering; preference given to those with advanced technical degrees or training.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in water, sewer or stormwater modelling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and eager to develop new skills.
  • A creative mind and hands-on problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Hydraulic modeling software for drinking water networks (EPANET or similar) and (or) stormwater networks (SWMM or similar).
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Strong understanding of control strategies applied in the water sector.
  • Knowledge of programming and data management modeling tools.
  • Working knowledge of Agile Methodology and Jira.
  • Practical knowledge of modern data science methods for hydraulic and model development.
  • Previous practical experience working in a water utility, organization, or setting.

Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will work on the development and implementation of intelligent control solutions for the water, sewer and treatment sectors, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team made up of IT experts, programmers, data scientists, engineers, and business professionals.
  • On a day-to-day basis, they will coordinate a team of hydraulic modelers to meet the defined deliverables.
  • We are looking for someone who wants to grow within the company, getting involved in software design, supporting business development activities, and implementing solutions at full scale.
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
