About The Position

The Water Field Tech is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of saltwater disposal facilities. This role includes monitoring injection wells, operating pumps and pipelines, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all activities comply with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
1–3 years of experience in oilfield operations, SWD, or water handling (preferred)
Knowledge of injection wells, pumps, and basic mechanical systems (preferred)
Understanding of oil & gas safety practices and environmental regulations (preferred)
Ability to read gauges, meters, and basic schematics (preferred)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

1–3 years of experience in oilfield operations, SWD, or water handling (preferred)
Knowledge of injection wells, pumps, and basic mechanical systems (preferred)
Understanding of oil & gas safety practices and environmental regulations (preferred)
Ability to read gauges, meters, and basic schematics (preferred)

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor saltwater disposal wells, pumps, tanks, and associated equipment
Inject produced water in accordance with permit limits and regulatory requirements
Monitor pressures, flow rates, volumes, and temperatures to ensure safe operations
Conduct routine inspections of facilities, pipelines, valves, and meters
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues
Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, motors, and equipment
Maintain accurate daily logs, injection volumes, and pressure records
Collect water samples and assist with testing as required
Respond to alarms, spills, leaks, or operational upsets in a timely manner
Coordinate with production, trucking, and field operations personnel
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies
Maintain housekeeping at SWD locations
