About The Position

As a Water Resources Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively in an employee-owned company while interacting with clients, contractors, regulators, and government officials. At CEC, you will provide services for projects of various complexities with opportunities in stormwater management & compliance, watershed management, floodplain management, National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) permitting & map revisions, flood mitigation analyses, permitting & design, drainage master planning, waterways development, bridge & culvert designs, water resources & construction permitting, and Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) services. Your involvement throughout the lifespan of projects will be from conception through construction as you contribute to the analysis, design, development of plans & specifications, permitting applications, bidding, and construction engineering. You will work collaboratively with our diverse team of talented, passionate, multidisciplinary experts as we provide unique solutions to meet our clients’ needs with innovation and a vision for growth. Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Professional Engineer licensed
  • 7 + years of experience with water resources projects in one or more of the following areas: hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management and compliance, dam safety engineering
  • Strong experience with hydrologic and hydraulic processes and expertise in modeling these processes
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and ArcGIS
  • Experience producing engineering drawings
  • Experience mentoring and managing staff
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Ability to write and prepare technical reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and 2D Hydraulic Modeling (InfoWorks ICM, FLO-2D, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with applications of Low Impact Development, Green Infrastructure, and/or Nature-Based Solutions

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced engineering design tasks on complex water resource projects
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support design and assessment of surface water systems and infrastructure
  • Develop detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and reports, along with permit application support
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews on projects
  • Provide mentoring, training, and oversight for staff
  • Manage water resource related projects and tasks
  • Pursue client management and business development opportunities
