About The Position

The bustling City of Pearland, TX is looking for an energetic individual who enjoys being in and around the swimming pool and who possess a passion for teaching and instructing others. Requirements

• Entry level education for this position does not require completion of high school.
• No prior experience is required.
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days; must be able to pass American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Level 4 exit test to qualify for the certification
• Valid Texas Driver's License (or the ability to obtain with 90 days of hire)

Responsibilities

• Instruct classes in accordance with American Red Cross standards.
• Maintains control of classes and ensures the classes are safe at all times.
• Prepare materials for the Learn-to-Swim program including certificates, course checklist, Red Cross course records, teaching aids and supplies.
• Interact with supervisory, pool management, and lifeguard staff.
• Immediately reports safety related issues such as unsafe equipment within the facility, chemical spills, etc.
• Participates in required in-service trainings and other meetings.
• Performs related work as assigned.
