About the position

As a Web Data Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the overall health and effectiveness of the product catalog within a Magento e-commerce store. You will ensure product information is accurate, well-organized, and optimized to drive sales and positive customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing product listings: Managing the creation, maintenance, and updates of all product listings within the Magento platform.
  • Ensuring data accuracy: Verifying that all product data (descriptions, pricing, images, specifications, inventory levels) is accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Implementing updates: Managing and implementing updates to the product catalog, including new products, price changes, product retirements, and promotions.
  • Handling various Magento product types: Managing the various product types available in Magento, including simple, configurable, grouped, and bundled products.
  • Quality control and error correction: Performing regular audits of product listings to maintain quality and correct any discrepancies or errors.
  • Category management: Organizing products into appropriate categories and subcategories for improved discoverability and navigation within the Magento catalog.
  • Attribute management: Creating, configuring, and optimizing product attributes (e.g., color, size, material) and their corresponding options for effective product filtering and search.
  • SEO optimization: Optimizing product descriptions, keywords, and categories to improve search engine ranking and visibility.
  • Image enhancement and management: Optimizing product images for Magento specifications, including resizing, enhancing, and renaming with SEO-friendly filenames.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with SEO best practices for optimizing content and increasing site traffic.
  • Strong attention to detail and a strong ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Familiarity with data management tools and can utilize catalog management software and tools for efficient data handling.
  • Experience with data analysis and can analyze product and catalog data to make informed decisions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate with suppliers to gather accurate product information and maintain data consistency.
  • Basic knowledge of Magento’s UI (User Interface) and an understanding of Magento's architecture to effectively manage the catalog and integrate with other systems.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
