About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Functions: To Maintain and promote the Tyson Safety culture. Receive Training as required. Perform various duties as required/assigned. Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs. Train Maintenance techs on equipment. Order parts as need and follow-up on parts order with outstanding PO's. Fill in for absenteeism or assisting in other areas of plant. Tasks: General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Must be willing to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.

Requirements

  • Plant Maintenance positions require one year experience in industrial maintenance, or equivalent certification from a technical school.
  • Experience or certification should include knowledge in industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, plumbing and welding.
  • Knowledge in the operation of PLC’s is a plus.
  • Strong electronic skill set is a must.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
  • Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours.
  • Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in the operation of PLC’s is a plus.
