About The Position

We are looking to hire a Structural Fabricator/Welder to join our team! We work on projects of all different shapes and sizes, across several different industries from healthcare to restaurants to big box distribution. The work each day is a mix of welding, cutting, and bolting as we build for a better tomorrow. Our fabricators work most often as part of a team, but also need to work independently as projects require. The job will keep you moving from task to task, and your ability to think creatively, find efficient solutions to challenges, balance changing demands, and keep track of high-quality work will allow you to thrive within our company.

  • Be able to pass a welding test and be certified for 2G unlimited thickness following procedures used at M&N Structures
  • Knowledge of Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Fabrication processes, organization of a fabrication shop, and related construction practices of other trades
  • Comfortable with lifting large, awkward, and heavy loads using forklifts
  • Ability to read and understand measuring devices such as a tape measure
  • Ability to work with computers, tablets, and smartphones including typing, reading reports, email, and navigating the internet to find information
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple and changing priorities, including good time - management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a complete manner
  • Must be able to work independently, or as needed to work as a part of a team, and collaborate with colleagues
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years previous work experience in a related field preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or Technical degree preferred.
  • Previous welding certifications a plus

Responsibilities

  • Read shop drawings to understand necessary production process and weld symbols.
  • Load and unload work area using forklifts.
  • Layout fabrication assemblies and fit parts to them.
  • Complete welds indicated using wire feed spray transfer (MIG)
  • Cut parts with oxy-fuel or plasma torch, grind parts or welds to create necessary weld preparation, weld cleanup, or other profile as required by the drawings.
  • Adhere to established quality standards and check quality of your own work and the work of others as required.
  • Document the work performed using computer software systems.
  • Set up and maintain equipment including preventative maintenance and troubleshooting issues.
  • Manage needed consumables, including wire, gases, tips, and others to ensure that required tools are available and in proper shape to produce quality parts.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Be able to complete work and adjust priorities on the run to maintain established production schedules.
