About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mid-Level Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in welding techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle more complex welding tasks. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in welding is required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols.
  • In addition to the competencies mentioned above, there is a minimum of 1-3 years of welding/fabrication operational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and FCAW.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time.
  • Conduct task-specific PPE selection and adhere to safe work habits.
  • Ensure hand safety and communicate hazards effectively.
  • Practice grinding safety and control hazardous energy (LOTO).
  • Operate forklifts and perform crane pre-use inspections and operations.
  • Handle crane rigging, slings, and lift devices.
  • Ensure compressed gas cylinder safety and machine guarding.
  • Utilize computer skills for e-mail, safety skills, and Workday.
  • Manage waste streams (scrap metal, environmental) and welding fume extraction.
  • Comprehend and sign off on JSA.
  • Work in hot work permitted areas and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Use common hand tools and measuring tools (tape measure, scale).
  • Apply basic shop math (measurements, geometry, volume, area).
  • Prepare welds by removing scale and oil and grinding bevels and fit up.
  • Identify weld fillers and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Locate and use SOPs.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and pre-use inspections.
  • Set up and ensure functionality of welding machines.
  • Use fixturing and rotary tables.
  • Handle materials and operate oxygen/acetylene equipment.
  • Perform basic welding of steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and aluminum.
  • Conduct spot welding and fabricate to 1/8-inch tolerance.
  • Understand heat control and its effects on alloys.
  • Conduct visual inspections for cracks and porosity.
  • Perform pressure check operations and chop saw operations.
  • Operate shears, plate rollers, hand breaks, foot shears, swaging, and flaring.
  • Use hydraulic presses and bend tubes to 90 degrees.
  • Meet production standards.
  • Recognize hazards and identify materials (alloys).
  • Perform proficient welding of steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and aluminum.
  • Conduct plasma cutting operations and gas purging.
  • Perform soldering and brazing.
  • Bend tubes with multiple bends and operate press breaks.
  • Layout and weld out of position.
  • Fabricate assemblies to 1/16-inch tolerance.
  • Flatten and straighten materials.
  • Use precision measuring tools (caliper, micrometer).
  • Conduct visual inspections for undercut, cold lap, and inclusions.
  • Maintain attention to detail and quality.
  • Meet or exceed production standards.
  • Solve problems and perform rework.
  • Adapt to non-routine tasks.
  • Implement 5S and manage quality spills and engineering tasks.
  • Develop SOPs.
