Welder II (MIG) Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Welder II (Intermediate) to join our weld team. This role focuses on performing structural welds with high-quality standards, reading basic weld symbols and drawings, and supporting the development of junior welders. Key Responsibilities Perform structural welds ensuring quality and compliance with specifications Read and interpret basic weld symbols and engineering drawings Fit, tack, and prepare assemblies for welding Conduct visual inspections of own work to maintain quality standards Assist Welder I team members in skill development and training Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Qualifications 3-5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting AWS D1.1 or equivalent certification Proficiency in MIG welding required Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to follow safety protocols and standard work instructions Physical Demands: Frequent use of hands and fingers for welding, grinding, and assembly tasks Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 40 lbs; occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods during a shift Hand-eye coordination required for precise welding and fitting operations Good visual acuity, including color perception and depth perception, necessary for inspecting welds and reading drawings Ability to hear alarms, signals, and communicate effectively in a noisy environment Environmental Conditions: Temperature: Exposure to hot and cold temperatures depending on production area and seasonal conditions Noise: Work performed in moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection may be required Fumes and Particulates: Exposure to welding fumes, dust, and airborne particles; proper respiratory protection and ventilation required Lighting: Work performed in well-lit areas, with occasional need for supplemental task lighting Work Surface: Walking and working on uneven, metal, or grating surfaces; climbing ladders or working at elevated positions may be required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Use of welding helmet, gloves, protective clothing, and other PPE as required by safety standards Safety Hazards: Exposure to sparks, molten metal, and moving machinery; strict adherence to safety procedures required ElDorado National California Inc. The salary range reflected on the job positing is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. While we do not typically hire at the top of the salary range, initial offers are based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, with opportunities for growth and increases over time. The hiring range for this position is $29.00 to $32.00 per hour.
