Overview This position operates welding equipment requiring comprehensive knowledge of wirefeed and Heliarc welding and is responsible for fabrication and first run prototypes.

Requirements

• Generally requires at least 2-3 years of relevant welding experience with exposure to Heliarc and wire feed welding.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and to effectively use parts handling equipment.
• Ability to effectively inspect assigned work and the work of others, which may include micrometers, gages or special equipment as required.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions, and troubleshoot problems when necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Previous basic machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates welding equipment in production areas and troubleshoots projects as appropriate.
• Works closely with Engineering and the Model Shop on projects that require prototype welding and makes recommendations on product design.
• Fabricates all types of shelving, carts, etc. used in the facility, works with tooling to develop fixtures, and programs and troubleshoots robotic welding equipment.
• Trains less experienced welders.
• Routs parts using material handling equipment, follows written and verbal instructions, inspects assigned work, and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Follows safety guidelines, maintains quality and productivity standards, and maintains an acceptable dependability level.
