About The Position

Direct and coordinate the activities of the Application Engineering Structural Group.Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities) Manage a team of application welding engineers, technicians, and technologists to complete Applied R&D projects Support the personal growth of direct reports through ongoing professional development. Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, ensuring best practices are followed in customer support, evaluations, demonstrations, and solution development Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, machine and consumable R&D, product management to develop and deliver welding solutions Manage offering of engineering services to end users Develop and maintain project plans, allocate resources effectively, and track progress, ensuring projects are delivered on time Grow and maintain expertise in AWS and AISC industry trends Proactively address lab related environment, ergonomic, and safety issues. Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2030 RISE Strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Welding Engineering, Mechanical (with an emphasis in Welding), Structural Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Welding Industry Codes and Standards
  • Proficiency in arc welding processes
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to build and maintain superior relationships with internal and external clients at all levels.
  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements
  • Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy
  • Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives
  • Typically operates with broad latitude in a complex environment
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time
