About The Position

Pine Technical and Community College seeks a Welding Technology/Welder Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at PTCC are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse an collaboration, and advance the college mission. The Welding Instructor will be responsible for classroom and lab instruction to students participating in the Welding Technology program and is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues to support student success and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment. The Welding Instructor is also responsible for maintaining accurate academic records in a computerized learning management system. Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State credential field of Welding Technology/Welder.
  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENT Diploma in welding.
  • OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in welding.
  • RECENCY REQUIREMENT One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior on-line experience using D2L Brightspace platform or equivalent information management system

Responsibilities
