About The Position

The First Tactical Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, control, and movement within the warehouse or distribution center. This role ensures inventory integrity across receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations while leading inventory staff and partnering closely with Operations, Purchasing, and Finance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of inventory control or warehouse operations experience
  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Strong understanding of inventory control practices, cycle counting, and audits
  • Experience using WMS and/or ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold team members accountable

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and system reconciliation
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and variances
  • Ensure proper product identification, labeling, location control, and FIFO/FEFO compliance
  • Monitor inventory adjustments and ensure proper authorization and documentation
  • Coordinate inventory activities with receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping teams
  • Support physical inventory counts and year-end audits
  • Identify root causes of inventory issues and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure inventory processes align with operational efficiency and service level goals
  • Utilize WMS/ERP systems to track inventory movements and maintain data integrity
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports (accuracy, aging, slow-moving, obsolete stock)
  • Ensure inventory transactions are completed timely and accurately in the system
  • Supervise, train, and support inventory control associates and warehouse staff as assigned
  • Assign daily tasks and prioritize work based on operational needs
  • Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety standards
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and documentation as needed
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce errors and improve accuracy
  • Support warehouse safety initiatives and compliance with company policies
  • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready inventory areas
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support business growth and operational scalability
  • Other duties as assigned.
