About The Position

As a Window and Door Field Service Technician II, you represent MITER Brands and our trusted family of brands, including Milgard, MI Windows & Doors, and PGT Innovations. by delivering skilled, professional service in the field. This mid-level role requires strong technical ability, sound judgment, and the capability to resolve most window and door service issues independently while delivering excellent customer experience. You’ll handle a broad range of service calls, perform accurate diagnostics and repairs, and collaborate with internal teams when issues require escalation—ensuring every customer interaction reflects our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and care. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade training preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in window/door service, installation, maintenance, or related trades
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve most service issues independently
  • Solid customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to follow service procedures and know when to escalate issues
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs., including ladders and materials
  • Experience using mobile devices or digital systems for service documentation
  • Familiarity with building codes, installation standards, and construction best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MI Windows & Doors, or PGT products is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, adjustments, and retrofits on a wide range of window and door products.
  • Conduct onsite inspections to identify installation, product, or usage-related issues.
  • Complete standard to moderately complex repairs with minimal supervision, escalating advanced or non-standard issues as needed.
  • Apply working knowledge of product design, installation methods, and structural interfaces.
  • Serve as a professional field representative, addressing customer concerns clearly and respectfully.
  • Communicate technical findings, repair outcomes, and maintenance recommendations to homeowners, builders, and contractors.
  • Deliver a consistent, positive customer experience aligned with MITER Brands’ service standards.
  • Collaborate with Field Service Tech III, supervisors, and internal teams on complex or recurring service issues.
  • Accurately document service work, parts usage, findings, and resolutions using digital service tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle, tools, and inventory.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, job site protocols, and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for product upgrades or preventative maintenance and communicate recommendations appropriately.
  • Participate in required training to expand product knowledge and repair skills.
  • Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on recurring field issues or service trends.
