About The Position

i3 is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support an Army contract. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise in the administration, integration, and maintenance of Windows-based information systems and infrastructure supporting a large enterprise user base. The Windows Systems Administrator will ensure system reliability, security, and performance while supporting architectural and operational requirements across the environment. The candidate must demonstrate a customer-focused approach and provide support to both local and remote users. Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain, a minimum of a United States SECRET security clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma with 10+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Security+ certification required (DoD 8140 compliant).
  • Must possess applicable DoD 8140 certification.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Strong experience with Windows systems administration and enterprise troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Active Directory administration.
  • Experience managing Windows patching and vulnerability remediation in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting CAC/PKI authentication environments.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of office administration and procedures.
  • Exceptional judgment capabilities and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver feedback clearly and tactfully.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HBSS and ACAS is preferred.
  • Support NetApp storage systems (prior experience preferred; willingness to learn required).

Responsibilities

  • Perform Windows system hardening and patch management using DoD-approved tools such as ACAS and HBSS.
  • Conduct vulnerability remediation using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) or other approved enterprise management tools.
  • Provide technical support and customer service to local and remote users via phone, email, ticketing systems, and in-person support.
  • Manage and maintain Windows servers and virtual machines operating within an Active Directory environment.
  • Administer Active Directory components, including users, groups, Organizational Units (OUs), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and related directory services.
  • Manage Windows patching in restricted or disconnected environments, including troubleshooting systems that fail automated patch deployment.
  • Support Multifactor Authentication (MFA) technologies including CAC/Smartcard PKI authentication and certificate management.
  • Administer certificate authorities and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Maintain and support backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of servers and systems in accordance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Utilize ticketing systems to track, manage, and resolve end-user requests and incidents.
  • Provision and manage standard user, administrator, and service accounts, including account lifecycle management and documentation.
  • Maintain system documentation, including hardware inventories, software inventories, and configuration documentation.
  • Support Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity compliance activities including DISA STIG implementation, RMF compliance, and system hardening.
  • Support NetApp storage systems (prior experience preferred; willingness to learn required).
  • Evaluate vendor products and recommend solutions to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to end users when appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and cybersecurity best practices.
