About The Position

The Wire Harness Technician will be primarily responsible for assembling harnesses used on the spacecraft, in environmental testing, and for hardware development activities. They will uphold quality standards congruent with space applications. They will interface directly with harness manufacturing and design engineers in design document and work instruction review. They are also responsible for area organization, 5S implementation, maintaining production equipment, and documentation diligence inside of the manufacturing execution system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working hands-on as a technician in the aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
  • Proficiency in wire crimping and harness assembly
  • Familiarity with precision tools
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Climbing ladders, long durations of standing, grasping, sitting, pulling, and physical bending movements
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs, unassisted
  • This role requires to work onsite
  • For U.S. Roles: To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e. Green Card holder), or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
  • For U.K. Roles: To comply with U.K. regulations, this role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks, and successful candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
  • For Canada Roles: Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

  • Experience reading technical drawings / schematics
  • IPC620 working knowledge or certification
  • Experience with testers (Cirris, Cable eye)
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Advanced soldering skills
  • Cleanroom experience

Responsibilities

  • Build harnesses; read and digest the schematic and work instructions then execute cutting stripping, crimping tasks
  • Execute by way of adding harnesses to existing standalone hardware
  • Maintaining detailed documentation by way of marking steps completed, non-conformances discovered, potential assembly improvements
  • Execute testing of harnesses (DMM, automated tester)
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to brainstorm and support overall manufacturing improvements
  • Uphold Quality standards
