About The Position

CERTEX USA is seeking a dependable, experienced Wire Rope Assembler to join our team in the Atlanta, GA area. The Driver is responsible for transporting cargo to and from designated locations, ensuring timely deliveries in accordance with the schedule and performing routine pre-trip inspections to confirm the vehicle is in proper working condition before departure. This role requires operating a large or heavy truck with a focus on safety, adhering strictly to all DOT and company safety regulations. The Driver is expected to support the warehouse with shipping/receiving and fabricating wire-rope as needed to support the business. The ideal candidate must be a team player willing to assist as needed to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Valid driver license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communications skills and customer-focused attitude.
  • Punctual, reliable and able to work independently
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal background check
  • Be able to provide valid documentation to provide proof of citizenship in accordance with I-9 document
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude
  • Report to work at the designated start time
  • Willing to travel to various work sites or training as required
  • Willing to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures and comply with the Company’s “Stop Work” policy
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designation operations and production areas as directed
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and Supervisor with other duties as required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Good knowledge of local roads and traffic laws
  • Must be able to sit in a driving position for long hours with occasional breaks
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, usually between 50-75 pounds, such as loading/unloading cargo
  • Drivers may need to push/pull heavy doors, loading ramps, or pallets
  • Reaching overhead to adjust mirrors, open cargo doors, or perform minor maintenance tasks
  • Regularly climbing in and out of the truck cab
  • Frequent bending and kneeling when performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections or when securing loads with straps or chains
  • Handling the steering wheel, controls, and equipment, requiring fine motor skills and coordination
  • Ability to grasp and manipulate objects, such as operating tools, securing cargo, and managing paperwork.
  • Sharp vision to read road signs, gauges, and paperwork. Drivers need visual depth perception, peripheral vision, and color recognition
  • Must have sufficient hearing to detect warning signals, sirens, or verbal instructions
  • Good physical balance when climbing, walking on uneven surface or performing loading/unloading tasks.
  • Maintain mental alertness and focus driving in inclement weather or difficult terrain
  • Quick reflexes and reaction times to respond to potential hazards, changes in traffic conditions or vehicle malfunctions

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an industrial or warehouse environment is a plus
  • Prior delivery experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials and equipment
  • Load and unload equipment, materials, and other items
  • Verifying that all items on transport vehicles are securely stored
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery to designated locations
  • Maintain cargo documentation
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any issues
  • Follow established routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintaining communication with Branch Management to provide updates on delivery status, clarify any special instructions, and report delays or issues encountered during transport
  • Pulls orders and retrieves products from the warehouse and Pack/ship completed orders in preparation for shipping
  • Operates counting scale
  • Restocks inventory as directed
  • Operates motorized equipment
  • Calculate wire rope cut lengths, fitting requirements and identify the appropriate equipment to produce all varieties of wire or synthetic rope and chain assemblies
  • Splicing wire rope and fabricating chain slings
  • Understanding and operation of industrial swaging machines, proof testing machines, and forklifts
