About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Basketball Coach to lead, develop, and inspire student-athletes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching fundamental skills, fostering teamwork, and guiding players to achieve success both on and off the court.
Requirements
- Previous basketball playing or coaching experience is required
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules and strategies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and develop athletes of varying skill levels
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Background check is required
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct effective practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and teamwork
- Teach basketball fundamentals including shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, and game strategy
- Develop and implement offensive and defensive game plans
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and a positive team culture
- Manage game-day responsibilities including lineups, substitutions, and in-game adjustments
- Monitor athlete safety and ensure proper use of equipment
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff
- Maintain team records, statistics, and schedules
- Ensure compliance with all league, school, or organizational policies
