About The Position

Qwoted is a global social network that helps media connect with subject matter experts and the PR/Communications professionals who represent them. This role combines hands-on WordPress development and web and creative design to support growth and experimentation for our marketing team. You will own the day-to-day execution of design and on-brand creative that supports goals for web and digital channels, collaborating with copywriters and marketers to translate campaign objectives into strong layouts and clear visual hierarchy. The role also requires website updates, the creation of landing pages, microsites, and interactive tools on Qwoted’s site (WordPress on WP Engine). You will partner closely with the team to ship quickly, stay on-brand, and improve conversion rates through iterative testing. This is a builder role. You will translate goals into well-designed, performant WordPress experiences, and you will implement them end-to-end.

Requirements

  • Design portfolio that demonstrates web design and digital creative work (landing pages, website design, ad creative, social, or similar).
  • Strong WordPress experience, including:
  • Building pages and layouts in WordPress, including Elementor or comparable page builders.
  • Comfort working within WordPress themes, templates, and content structures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot plugin conflicts, performance issues, and layout inconsistencies.
  • Experience with WP Engine hosting workflows and foundational knowledge of domains and DNS.
  • Web development skills:
  • PHP (for WordPress and plugin development)
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap
  • Experience working with JSON REST APIs, including reading API documentation.
  • Strong QA instincts and ability to test and debug issues independently.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities, maintain a backlog, and communicate status clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience improving conversion on landing pages (A/B testing, heatmaps, basic analytics).
  • Understanding of on-page SEO and performance optimization for WordPress.
  • Experience creating lightweight design systems or component libraries.
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices for web.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize Qwoted’s WordPress website (performance, uptime, UX, SEO basics, and content integrity).
  • Build and launch landing pages and reusable page sections using Elementor and WordPress best practices.
  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and site functionality to support initiatives.
  • Set up and manage microsites from domain to deployment, including DNS basics and WP Engine environment workflows.
  • Troubleshoot, test, debug, and resolve website issues across browsers and devices.
  • Design on-brand creative that supports goals for web and digital channels.
  • Collaborate with copywriters and marketers to translate campaign objectives into strong layouts and clear visual hierarchy.
  • Resize and reformat approved creative for use across key channels (social, ads, email graphics, and web).
  • Maintain and improve systems for organizing design assets, templates, and reusable components.
  • Build read-only pages and interactive tools that closely follow API documentation.
  • Integrate JSON REST APIs into WordPress via PHP and/or client-side JavaScript.
  • Work with Qwoted Engineering as needed to resolve API questions and edge cases.
  • Operate autonomously and provide regular progress updates and shipping work in short cycles.
  • Present completed work, receive feedback, and iterate quickly.
  • Document lightweight processes for repeatable builds and faster launches.
