About The Position

The Continuing Education Assistant is an essential element in the Continuing Education mission to empower individuals to be curious and become independent, innovative thinkers through completing administrative tasks and offering excellent customer service. Work Study Required In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed, this position requires applicants to have been awarded Work Study funds. Work study funds are based on your eligibility determined by the FAFSA and are awarded as part of your Financial Aid package. Requirements

  • Must be a student currently enrolled in at least 6 credits at Western Nevada College
  • Enrollment in at least 6 credits each regular semester; and
  • Be in a degree seeking program; and
  • Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements: 67% completion rate in the last enrolled semester 67% cumulative completion rate 2.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale Have not exceeded the maximum number of credits allowed (90) or received two degrees OR be on an approved appeal and on probation with an Academic Plan; and
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Summer Eligibility - Students are eligible to work during the summer if they meet the following criteria: Enrolled in at least 6 summer credits; or Successfully have completed the spring semester and enrolled in the required 6 credits for the fall semester (summer enrollment in this case is not required); and Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements listed previously; and Be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with Google Docs a plus
  • General knowledge of effective oral and written communication practices
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to file documents chronologically and alphabetically
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse clientele
  • Conversational Spanish ability is a plus
