About The Position

At Presbyterian Healthcare Services, the Workday Solutions Architect is a collaborative leader who bridges business operations and enterprise technology. The architect partners with stakeholders across Human Capital Management (HCM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Finance, Payroll, IT, and Analytics to design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and integrated solutions that support our people, our patients, and our purpose.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or 6 years of equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 6 years supporting Workday technology or business operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of Workday configuration experience (HCM, SCM, Finance).
  • Experience in systems architecture, integrations, and enterprise IT environments.
  • Progress toward Workday Certified/Pro Certification in IT, SCM, or HCM.
  • Proficiency in Workday data model, reporting, and integration tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills: experience with MS Access, SQL, and ETL tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, APIs, and cloud-based architecture.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Architecture & Strategy Lead the design and evolution of Workday architecture, ensuring alignment with PHS’s digital transformation objectives, AI Strategy and our commitment to continuous improvement. Define and maintain architectural standards for integrations, data flows, and reporting across all platforms, prioritizing security, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with IT leadership and business partners to assess emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies that enhance and leverage Workday capabilities including AI to support our vision for innovation.
  • Workday Configuration & Optimization Configure and support Workday modules—including SCM, HCM, Finance, Security, and Integrations—tailoring solutions to meet the unique needs of our teams and departments. Translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions using best practices and native workday functionality including the capabilities of Workday AI. Serve as a core team member or lead in Workday deployments, upgrades, and release management, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Integration & Data Engineering Architect and maintain integrations between Workday and external systems (e.g., ERP, finance, logistics, analytics platforms) using web services, ETL tools, Extend, AI tools, and file exchanges. Design and implement data pipelines for Workday reporting and analytics, ensuring data integrity, governance, and performance in support of our “single source of truth” vision. Partner with data engineers and analytics teams to define data dictionaries, access protocols, and reporting frameworks that empower our teams to make informed decisions.
  • Security & Compliance Design and implement system security roles and access controls to support privacy, compliance, and audit readiness, in line with PHS’s standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor and enforce data governance policies across Workday systems, Workday AI and integrations, fostering a culture of accountability and stewardship.
  • Reporting & Analytics Enablement Develop advanced reports and dashboards using Workday reporting tools and external BI platforms, enabling leaders and staff to access actionable insights. Enable self-service analytics by partnering with business users and analytics teams to define KPIs, metrics, and data access strategies that drive performance and transparency.
  • Technical Leadership & Collaboration Act as a technical advisor to stakeholders, guiding solution design, system capabilities, and process optimization with empathy and expertise. Lead and facilitate the Weekly Functional Governance Group and Bi-weekly Change Advisory Board Approval meetings, ensuring alignment and accountability across workstreams. Conduct technical QA reviews, root cause analysis, and resolution of system issues and outages, prioritizing service continuity and user experience. Collaborate with IT engineers, developers, and business SMEs to prioritize enhancements and deliver high-impact solutions that reflect our values of teamwork and service.
  • Documentation & Lifecycle Management Author and maintain technical documentation, including Functional Design Documents, Interface Specifications, Test Plans, and Architecture Diagrams, supporting knowledge sharing and operational excellence. Support agile delivery by managing multiple concurrent projects, sprint planning, and backlog grooming, fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
