About The Position

The Workforce Development Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations, mentoring, and administrative functions of the Ready For the World Fellowship (RFW) and the Preservation Trades Center (PTC) Academies at Eastern Sate. This role involves coordinating recruitment, managing schedules, organizing professional development, and providing mentoring and support for Fellows and PTC Academy participants. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Workforce Development to ensure a smooth and enriching experience for all participants, contributing to the success of the museum’s educational and workforce development goals.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience in adult education, program coordination, reentry services, and/or mentoring.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, detail oriented, collaborative.
  • Administrative experience including calendar management.
  • Ability to balance and deliver on both internal and external priorities.
  • Passion for museums, adult education, and professional development.
  • Planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and other collaborators.
  • A self-starter comfortable operating autonomously, but also aware of when and how to advocate for the help and resources needed for success.
  • Approach work with integrity and honesty.
  • Support and demonstrate the museum’s culture of developing a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible environment for staff, contract staff, vendors, and visitors.
  • Comfortable working remotely when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Personal experience with the criminal justice system and successful reentry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program Coordination: Organize orientation sessions, workshops, seminars, and other professional development activities for RFW Fellows and the competency skills curriculum of the PTC Academies. Sit in on workshops, seminars and other professional development activities as necessary. Develop and manage program schedules, ensuring that Fellows and PTC participants have access to all planned activities and opportunities. Coordinate cross-departmental meetings and projects for Fellows and the PTC Academy, facilitating collaboration with museum staff.
  • Mentoring RFW Fellows and PTC Academy participants throughout the program. This includes guidance on challenges experienced as well as regular communication with Fellows and PTC participants throughout program timeline about courses, field trips, schedules, timesheets, trainings, and other social services provided by the Fellowship and PTC Academy.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in the administration of the RFW Fellowship and PTC Academies, including maintaining records, tracking applications, procuring supplies, and managing correspondence. Coordinate the logistics of the recruitment and selection process, including scheduling interviews, communicating with applicants and hiring committee, preparing materials for review committees, and supporting the background check and onboarding process. This includes coordinating with Director of Human Resources and RFW Fellows and PTC participants to complete onboarding. Maintain up-to-date records of RFW Fellows’ and PTC participants’ progress and participation in the programs, coordinating with consultants and partners as needed. Manage check-in meetings with RFW Fellows, PTC participants, partners, and consultants as needed throughout the program. Support preparation of reports on RFW Fellowship and PTC Academy activities, outcomes, and participant satisfaction for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Event Planning: Plan and facilitate events related to the Fellowship initiative and the PTC Academy including networking events, guest lectures, field trips, and graduations. Assist in organizing alumni events and maintaining engagement with former RFW Fellows and PTC Academy alumni.
  • Communication and Outreach: Assist the Marketing team in the development and distribution of promotional materials for the Ready for the World Fellowship initiative and the Preservation Trades Academy, including brochures, web content, and social media posts. Help maintain relationships with partner institutions and organizations involved in the fellowship initiative and the PTC Academy as directed by the Director for Workforce Development Present on the RFW Fellowship and the PTC Academy during recruitment events, as part of fundraising activities, at conferences and other speaking engagements as determined by the Director for Workforce Development
