About The Position

The Instructor II is responsible for leading workshops, career tracks, and certification tracks for enrolled job seekers within the El Barrio program. This position provides orientation and ongoing professional development for instructional staff, supports program operations, and ensures high‑quality curriculum delivery aligned with workforce competency standards. The instructor II collaborates closely with internal teams, external partners, and hiring entities to support participant success, while also contributing to continuous improvement of instructional processes and program outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in workforce development and two years relevant exposure to or experience with instruction and delivery of adult learners preferred.
  • Certified CCAR Facilitator
  • Minimum 1-year direct patient interaction
  • Experience working with electronic platforms (i.e., Microsoft software, internet, databases, and virtual learning platforms).
  • Requires travel to other facilities and meetings.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the State of Ohio with less than two points on his/her driving record.
  • Must be able to safely and competently operate vehicle.
  • Flexible schedule to work outside of normal business hours for program and job seeker needs and to attend trainings and meetings.
  • Bilingual in oral and written English, Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver engaging workshops, career development tracks, and certification preparation programs to enrolled job seekers both virtually and in-person.
  • Implement El Barrio's workforce competency standards in the development of lesson plans, training materials, and supplemental instructional resources.
  • Adapt instructional approaches based on participant needs, learning styles, and program outcomes data.
  • Model instructional best practices for Instructor I and other team members.
  • Responsible for training and support for instructor I
  • Primary contact for HR and hiring managers to connect graduates with internships, shadowing and hiring.
  • Primary contact with the CCAR representative.
  • Ensures all materials are up to date and CCAR materials are ordered and in stock.
  • Responsible for scheduling classes and locations for instruction.
  • Responsible for completing reports and compiling data for manager review.
  • Provides class coverage for vacations and call offs.
  • Coordinate Career Coach’s and external partners (in collaboration with the Job Developer) schedules with leading and assisting in workshop delivery.
  • Ensures accurate attendance and progress notes are reported and updated after each session completed in appropriate database. Works with the CRM Administrator with any performance and program outcomes of job seekers.
  • Collaborates with manager to formulate a process for evaluating progress, development of staff and job seekers, and effectiveness of content. In addition, utilizing feedback to identify and prioritize program ideas and needs.
  • Transport participants using agency vehicles to off-site work experiences as needed.
  • Attend required meetings and build agendas for and lead targeted team meetings as assigned.
  • Assist with special projects that support program goals and organizational initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
