About The Position

Supervision of the Employment Engagement Specialists. This role is responsible for assessing and qualifying individuals for the AbilityOne program, ensuring high-quality employment outcomes for adults- particularly those with mental health conditions or other barriers to employment. The manager provides leadership, program oversight, employer engagement strategy, compliance monitoring, and completes vocational evaluations and documentation in accordance with program and contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in rehabilitation counseling, social work, human services, psychology, business, or related field with at least 1 year experience in workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, or supported employment programs.
  • Or at minimum a high school diploma with 3 years of experience in workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, or supported employment programs.
  • Valid acceptable NYS Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting vocational assessments and writing evaluations is preferred.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the Employment Engagement Specialist, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Ensure Services align with organizational mission, OMH requirements, and AbilityOne program standards.
  • Monitor program outcomes and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Conduct vocational assessments and determine eligibility for the AbilityOne program.
  • Complete require evaluations, documentations, and compliance reports.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with Federal, state, and contractual guidelines.
  • Ensure participants meet eligibility criteria and support ongoing compliance standards.
  • Develop employer engagement strategies to create meaningful employment opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships with community partners, businesses, and referral sources.
  • Support job placement, retention, and career advancements initiatives.
  • Analyze labor trends to inform program direction.
  • Oversee program documentation, grant reporting, and contract compliance.
  • Monitor performance benchmarks and funding deliverables
  • Assist with audits and ensure adherence to AbilityOne and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support complex participants cases and provide guidance on vocational planning.
  • Represent the organization at community meeting, workforce boards, and stakeholder events.
  • Promote inclusive hiring and workforce integration practices.
