About The Position

General Summary of Duties:   Responsible for dealing assigned game in a professional manner, while maintaining gaming integrity, take/pay on losing and winning bets. Typical Physical/Mental Demands:      Requires prolonged sitting; reaching from a sitting position of approximately forty-eight (48) inches across the table, left, center, right; eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity necessary to handle cards, chips and currency; the ability to distinguish winning/losing combinations; good math aptitude; normal vision and color vision and hearing range; ability to communicate directly with guests, management and staff in English; understands and complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures, job description and other instructions. Typical Working Conditions:   Heavy guest contact in tournament location; standing or sitting at gaming position for periods of one hour; ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, and illumination.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak in English, display a high level of confidentiality and integrity at all times
  • capacity to work well with others and handle stressful situations with ease
  • possess effective listening skills, intermediate math skills, and, a thorough working knowledge of tournament poker games
  • ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB), management, staff, co-workers, and guests
  • establish and maintain skill in building guest relationships for repeat business
  • have the ability to work in a stressful, high volume, energetic atmosphere
  • ability to follow directions
  • have the ability to work flexible shifts.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • prior tournament poker dealing experience
  • Level 2 Occupational License with Illinois Gaming Board

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to tournament poker game operations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Obtain a strong understanding of the Internal Control Systems (ICS) and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
  • Ability to comply with and maintain the Grand Victoria Casino’s Family Style Service Standards.
  • Deal poker game and maintain responsibility for the accuracy of the tournament Internal Control approved submissions.
  • Utilize the highest degree of technical skill in dealing the game, providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service to playing guests, in accordance with the Internal Control approved submission.
  • Converse with guests; the length and content would be determined by good judgment and common sense while maintaining a proper pace of the game using a positive, professional attitude.
  • Notify Poker Floor Person of any irregularities in guest play and transactions during the shift.
  • Perform all tasks that may be assigned in the future.
