Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida is seeking an individual to assume the role of Radiologic Technologist. About OSSWF: Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida has been a cornerstone of orthopedic care in the Fort Myers area for over 25 years. Our practice boasts a team of 18 fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons specializing in various subspecialities. We are committed to excellence and continued growth, offering comprehensive services including onsite Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy, MRI, and digital X-ray. Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida’s state-of-the-art, 60,000 square-foot facility incorporates the latest in leading-edge technology in order to provide optimal care for patients who have bone, joint, muscle and spine problems. Our office includes a full Physical Therapy and Occupational/Hand Therapy division, which work in close coordination with our physicians to provide non-operative, preoperative, post-operative and preventive care. Job Summary : To perform quality radiographic imaging in an office setting. This position will have unrestricted access to protected health information (PHI) pertaining to patients.

Requirements

  • Radiology license issued by the State of Florida
  • Maintain active status with ARRT (American Registry of Radiological Technologist)
  • Computer Literate - Windows environment
  • Ability to perform essential duties
  • Ability to clearly communicate written and verbal instructions
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Ability to demonstrate proper telephone etiquette
  • CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, equipment, procedures, instruments and common safety hazards and precautions
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients at times
  • Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
  • Occasionally lifting, carrying supplies, squatting, and bending
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, calculator and other office equipment as necessary
  • Ability to view computer screens for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Perform all radiographic imaging including but not limited to fluoroscopy as ordered by a physician
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines
  • Review paperwork and explain testing to the patient
  • Complete and prepare surgeons operating films and paperwork
  • Process and develop films
  • Properly complete encounter forms, billing and documentation on patient’s chart
  • Adhere to equipment standards and care
  • Schedule patients for examination using the computer
  • Order supplies as required
  • Clean and stock X-ray department
  • Responsible for recording all incoming and outgoing radiology studies
  • Responsible for promoting the Standards of Excellence for Orthopedic Specialists while demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, volunteers, peers and physicians
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment, demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work during heavy workload situations to expedite patient care
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
  • Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate work efforts with other employees and organizations
