About The Position

R.R. Cassidy, Inc. is seeking an experienced Yard Foreman to oversee daily yard operations, equipment readiness, and personnel activities. This role is responsible for coordinating yard workflow, supervising yard personnel, maintaining heavy equipment and assets, and ensuring all operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and OSHA standards. The Yard Foreman serves as a hands-on leader with strong mechanical aptitude, crane and heavy equipment knowledge, and the ability to perform minor fabrication and repair work as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with heavy equipment in a construction, utility, or foundation environment.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience overseeing crews or yard operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance awareness, and troubleshooting.
  • Active crane certification (NCCCO or equivalent) demonstrated understanding of crane safety, setup, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic welding and fabrication tasks for minor repairs and modifications; formal welding certification is a plus.
  • Experience working around lattice boom cranes or similar heavy lifting equipment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required; must possess a Class A, B, or D license.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, equipment manuals, and safety documentation.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50–75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working around lattice boom cranes or similar heavy lifting equipment preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic welding and fabrication tasks for minor repairs and modifications; formal welding certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily yard operations, including staging, movement, inspection, and organization of heavy equipment, materials, and assets.
  • Supervise and direct yard personnel, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment such as cranes, excavators, loaders, forklifts, skid steers, and other construction equipment as required.
  • Perform routine inspections of cranes, heavy equipment, tools, and yard assets to ensure safe operating condition and readiness for job deployment.
  • Conduct basic welding and fabrication tasks, including minor repairs, reinforcement, brackets, and installation of asset tags or identification markings.
  • Coordinate crane setup, inspection, and movement within the yard, ensuring compliance with lift plans, load limits, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices; proactively identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records related to equipment condition, inspections, repairs, and yard inventory.
  • Communicate with project teams, superintendents, and logistics personnel regarding equipment availability and yard priorities.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and securing equipment and materials for transport to and from job sites.
  • Provide hands-on training, guidance, and mentorship to yard personnel to support safe work practices and skill development.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training sessions.
