About The Position

A DAY IN THE LIFE Provides organizational related support to an assigned warehouse by organizing and tracking items from the yard and warehouse areas. Loads and unloads trailers and/or tool vans, assists with inventory, and maintains snow removal. Operates forklifts, skid loaders, telehandlers, or front-end loaders to transport loads in warehouse/yard and use electric hand jack and forklift trucks to transport materials. May operate 80/90-ton RT Crane. STEP INTO THE ROLE Assists assigned warehouse with compiling job start up items, assembling materials for shipment and sending items to the jobsite. Supports the warehouse with receiving items from jobsites (unloading trailers, conducting physical inventory count of returned items and recording returned items, etc.). Tracks, organizes, and reports materials located in assigned yard and warehouse areas. Tracks trailers in assigned yard and/or warehouse as well as their DOT status and when necessary. Makes recommendations as needed to have inspections completed by necessary vendors. Helps maintain accurate data and accurate inventory. Reports inaccuracies to leadership so that they can be addressed in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Mechanical knowledge usually obtained through a 2 yr. post-secondary degree or equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience.
  • Two or more years of yard/warehouse experience or equivalent combinations training and/or related experience, with a basic knowledge of yard procedures.
  • Experience identifying problems and making sound decisions on standard procedures.
  • Previous experience operating forklifts, skid loaders, telehandlers, or front-end loaders to load and unload heavy equipment and shipping containers.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License with acceptable driving record or ability to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating RT cranes up to 80/90-ton preferred.
  • Ability to obtain RT crane operator certification.
