About The Position

Purpose: Knight's Redi-Mix has an immediate opening for a qualified Loader Operator. This position involves the loader and yard operations. Ancillary duties will include paperwork and general maintenance related to the loader, managing materials inventory, yard cleanup and plant maintenance. This position reports to the Plant Manager, not excluding those departmental managers in which this position is involved. Essential Functions: Perform all job duties in accordance with company safety, environmental, and operational policies without exception. Contribute to a positive team-oriented culture while upholding the company’s values. Operates a front-end loader and other heavy equipment as needed for Knight’s Companies ensuring that material is properly moved to the bins for use in making concrete. Mains and operates the front-end loader and other equipment in accordance with company policies and legal guidelines. Ensures bins are filled according to the job's specifications and in a timely manner. Mains a clean and debris free yard, Connex, ramp, front-end loader, and plant site. Communicates efficiently, effectively and courteously with peers, superiors and vendors to ensure the proper handling of the products. Mains a good working relationship with all company personnel to ensure plants are properly serviced. Knows the rules of the plant prior to operating the front-end loader. Attends all safety meetings to gain a broader understanding of safety issues that will assist in mainsing a safe working environment. Portrays a positive and accommodating attitude towards peers, superiors and vendors. Must be able to take orders, instructions and guidance from supervisors and management. Ability to apply knowledge of mechanical functioning of various components on the equipment and make necessary repairs related to the equipment as they occur. Must be able to understand service and repair manuals relating to equipment and/or parts. Management of materials inventory at acceptable levels. Charging plant with raw materials with wheel loader pursuant to plant output expectations. Always keep the dry-batch plant loaded. Ensure that Trucking drivers dump materials into the proper pits. Performs general maintenance at batch plant such as shoveling, greasing and other mechanical duties. Follows General Plant Maintenance sheets. Load ice into mixer trucks during the summer months as needed. Remove material from pits once per week for cleaning. Empty out all outside trash cans and placing trash and empty fiber boxes in the proper receptacles. Maintain the reclaimer. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Good communication, aptitude, and decision making.
Minimum of one-year experience safely operating a front-end loader.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
Maintain Loader Operator License.
Able to maintain Commercial Driver's License and be required to drive ready-mix delivery on an "as needed" basis.
Ability to safely lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
Ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift, stretch, push, pull, twist, kneel, stand, walk, sit, and reach.
Ability to safely climb up and down stairs and/or ladders.
Ability to work primarily outside, with exposure to the extremes of hot or cold weather.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in ready-mixed concrete preferred but not required.
