About The Position

CHANGE LIVES. INCLUDING YOURS. The YMCA Day Camp Supervisor assists the School-Age Childcare Director with implementation and oversight of the summer day camp program for 1st-7th grade children. In this role, you can look forward to: Supervising the daily activities of Camp Nakota, including providing direction to camp counselors, executing activities, communicating with the School-Age Childcare Director about daily activities, and ensuring that the core values of the YMCA are modeled to all children, staff and parents. Helps train and supervise camp counselors, assuring compliance with child to adult ratios, using appropriate discipline, and overseeing the health and safety of the day camp participants. Providing excellent customer service to parents by communicating with them effectively and observing staff to assure that they are providing exceptional care. Seasonal Full Time, Monday-Friday, 7:15 am-4:00 pm May 26th-August 7th, 2026

Requirements

  • We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  • Previous experience working in childcare, education or a camp setting preferred.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with parents regarding the child's activities, behavior, eating, etc.
  • Experience supervising staff preferred.
  • CPR Certification required within the first 30 days of the program.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field (such as Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Administration, or CDA) or a college student pursuing a degree or certification in Education preferred.
