About The Position

CADCA seeks a dedicated Youth Tobacco Program Coordinator (State of Maryland) committed to the "Youth Led, Adult Guided" philosophy to join our collaborative Public Health Programs team. This role supports the implementation and growth of CADCA’s youth leadership and tobacco prevention initiatives in Maryland, with primary responsibility for coordinating the Maryland Take Back Your Ten (TB10) Youth Tobacco Prevention Program. Through this work, the coordinator helps engage youth as community leaders working through coalitions to improve community health, safety, and well-being. The successful candidate will help coordinate program activities, partnerships, and training efforts that support youth leadership in tobacco prevention. The role requires strong public health program management skills, partner and stakeholder coordination, and a collaborative approach to working with youth, adult advisors, and coalition partners. The coordinator will join a team that values cross-team collaboration, quality improvement, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Strong public health program coordination and project management skills.
  • Experience working with youth leadership programs, community coalitions, and public health initiatives.
  • Knowledge of tobacco prevention, substance use prevention, or related public health strategies.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and partnership building- skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with youth, adult advisors, and organizational partners.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Education, or related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience considered.
  • Three to five years of experience in youth leadership programs, public health initiatives, or community coalition work.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Availability to support CADCA’s signature events: Drug Free Kids Campaign, Mid-Year Training Institute, and National Leadership Forum.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support implementation of the Maryland Take Back Your Ten (TB10) Youth Tobacco Prevention Program, including planning youth activities, meetings, and events.
  • Support youth leadership development and participation in coalition-based community prevention efforts.
  • Assist in management of grants and cooperative agreements, including supporting work plans, budgets, and progress reporting.
  • Collaborate with state agencies, coalition partners, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to coordinate training and technical assistance for youth and adult partners.
  • Support youth advisory groups and help coordinate trainings, meetings, and events that strengthen youth leadership and tobacco prevention knowledge.
  • Contribute to additional CADCA Public Health Programs initiatives as assigned.
