Description of Internship Opportunity: The American Bar Association is seeking an intern to join our team and gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional nonprofit environment. This unpaid, educational internship offers valuable opportunities for learning, skill development, and résumé building. The intern will observe and support ongoing work, gain exposure to a variety of resources, and participate in training designed to build professional knowledge and competencies. The intern will be part of the Center for Global Programs, reporting mainly to the Latin America and the Caribbean and the Outreach Divisions. The intern will engage in a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to: Developing outreach materials and reports. Conducting targeted research on matters related to international affairs. Assisting in the editing of progress reports. Creating graphics and imagery for the web site. Research opportunities to establish links with other organizations and on-line resources, including potential funding opportunities within the scope of ABA CGP’s programs. Collecting and editing story submissions and building web story pages. Assisting in organizing Center for Global Programs events and promotional efforts and collaborating with other entities within Center for Global Programs to optimize results. Eligibility: Candidates must be 18 years old or older and: currently enrolled in (or in a deferred enrollment/gap year status recognized by) a post-secondary academic institution (i.e. undergraduate, graduate) and in a program/area of study directly related to the purpose of the internship program; or a recent (i.e. up to one (1) year) graduate of a post-secondary academic institution (i.e. undergraduate, graduate) with a degree in a program/area of study directly related to the purpose of the internship program. Relevant Program/Area of Study: International Relations; Political Science; Pre-Law; Global Studies; Communications; Journalism; Spanish; Or fields related to international development, government, and/or Hispanic Studies.
