About The Position

Access Control personnel provide critical security support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Security and Emergency Management Directorate (DSS). They are responsible for executing a range of Security Operations Services across MDA facilities throughout the United States, ensuring the protection of personnel, assets, and infrastructure. Their work includes monitoring entry and exit points, enforcing security protocols, responding to security incidents, and maintaining a safe and controlled environment in accordance with federal and agency standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of security experience.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certified (100%), and trained in Red Cross First Aid.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Control access to buildings and property, protect equipment and materials, and conduct interior and exterior facility security inspections as directed.
  • Issue visitor badges in accordance with established policies, ensuring visitors present valid photo identification or a passport and verifying identity as part of the access process.
  • Create temporary access badges for approved personnel requiring entry into MDA facilities.
  • Interpret and operate magnetometers and X-ray screening equipment in accordance with procedures to ensure security is not compromised.
  • Ensure visitors properly secure prohibited items, including personal electronic devices, prior to entering the facility.
  • Conduct assigned security measures, such as Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAMs), Extra Security Measures (ESMs), and Facility Access Inspections as directed by Security Operations.
  • Escort approved on-site personnel to restricted areas (SMDC only).
  • Perform Extra Security Measures (ESM) as required to maintain facility security.
  • Conduct interior and exterior checks of MDA facilities to verify security integrity and immediately report any observed violations of MDA policies and procedures to the Shift Supervisor (SS) or Security Control Center (SCC).
  • Respond to and assist emergency personnel, including medical, fire department, law enforcement, and others at the direction of supervisors.
  • Provide real-time assessments to the SS or SCC when responding to emergency incidents.
  • Administer CPR, AED, and First Aid during emergencies as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Security Operations Center to ensure proper adherence to functional and operational procedures during special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of security operations.
