About The Position

The Account Manager – Outside Sales will lead regional sales growth for Shawflex products by driving demand among key end-users, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firms, and contractors, while effectively managing distribution channels within the assigned territory. This role combines strategic business development, key account management, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate is expected to achieve or exceed revenue targets through strong customer relationships, technical product knowledge, and disciplined adherence to company standards in customer service, safety, and ethics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of successful sales experience (outside sales or account management preferred), ideally within a related industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical product information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills, coupled with proficiency in CRM software for managing pipeline and customer information.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with strong teamwork and leadership skills to manage channel partners and cross-functional initiatives.
  • A commitment to safety protocols, ethical conduct, and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales & Demand Generation: Identify and engage prospective end-users, EPC firms, and contractors to build demand for Shawflex-branded products. This includes conducting regular customer visits, on-site meetings, and delivering technical presentations to engineering teams to have Shawflex specified in projects.
  • Channel Distribution Management: Develop and manage a robust distribution strategy to capture end-user demand across the region. Train and support distributor partners, organize joint sales visits, and ensure our channel network effectively promotes Shawflex products in alignment with regional sales objectives.
  • Account Management & Team Coordination: Coordinate closely with Inside Sales Representatives to align on account strategies and ensure exceptional service for all assigned accounts. Manage and provide guidance to a network of independent sales agents in the territory, setting clear expectations and supporting them in generating end-user demand and expanding market reach.
  • Client Relationships & Industry Presence: Maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders through frequent communication and on-site engagement. Represent Shawflex professionally at industry committees, trade shows, and networking events to enhance the company’s profile and stay informed about industry developments.
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan and roadmap for the territory, aligning with overall business goals and market opportunities. Maintain up-to-date customer profiles and sales activity records in the CRM system. Prepare and submit regular reports (e.g. monthly status updates) detailing sales progress, market feedback, upcoming opportunities, and key visit outcomes.
  • Quotations & Financial Alignment: Prepare detailed customer quotations and proposals, ensuring pricing and terms meet the company’s financial objectives and adhere to the established approval matrix. Work closely with management to align sales opportunities with budgets and strategic targets.
  • Market Intelligence & Marketing Support: Provide insights to the marketing and product teams by reporting on emerging customer needs, new business opportunities, competitor activities, and industry trends in the region. Support marketing initiatives by participating in product launches and regional marketing events, and share feedback to help refine marketing strategies.
  • Administrative & Compliance Duties: Complete all required administrative and compliance tasks in a timely manner. This includes conducting annual performance self-appraisals and setting objectives (using the company’s performance management system), preparing and managing the regional sales budget, and upholding all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards. Ensure full adherence to Shawflex’s ethical policies and any relevant regulatory requirements (including compliance with all company code of conduct guidelines).
