About The Position

Furnitureland South is looking for a Accounting Intern. The ideal intern would be an Accounting major allowing the opportunity to gain hands on/ corporate accounting experience with the ability to work on challenging, meaningful projects with guidance from a mentor and other members of our team. Furnitureland South's internship program will give you hands on experience in your area of study, along with gaining experience to enhance your professional development in the areas of networking, interviewing, time management, professional etiquette, and much more. Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a four-year college/university or an individual enrolled in a two-year college with at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Must be strong computer and Microsoft Office user.

Responsibilities

• Gain an understanding of dynamics of general accounting functions within a corporate environment.
• Gain hands-on experience of AR and AP processes.
• Have hands on interaction with other departments for the purpose of retrieving and/or giving information regarding customer accounts.
• Gain experience in identify discrepancies and update system in acknowledgement process.
• Assist with status update information for vendors and customers.
• Assists in the accounting department distribution of mail, identifying invoices, purchase orders, and additional correspondents that relates to the various accounting functions.
