About The Position

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting and payroll operations for a multi-branch staffing organization. Manage general ledger activity, payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with federal and state payroll regulations. Support leadership with financial analysis, budgeting, internal controls, and process improvements across accounting and HRIS/ payroll systems. Collaborate with branch management and executive leadership to maintain accurate financial records, monitor client credit risk, and ensure timely invoicing and collections.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standard accounting practices.
  • Working knowledge of financial statement preparation, general ledger management, month‑end and year‑end close processes.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Understanding of payroll accounting, sales/use tax, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with internal controls, audit preparation, and compliance best practices.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and financial software (e.g., ERP systems, accounting platforms, and Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Effective leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to coach and develop accounting staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial analysis tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage the daily operations of the accounting function.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
  • Ability to evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and compliance.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, business needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible accounting
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory or management experience
  • Demonstrated experience with full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and applicable accounting

  • CPA or CMA certification preferred but not
  • Experience in a professional services, staffing, or similar environment is a

Responsibilities
