Accounting Specialist
About The Position
Star Service of New Orleans, the leading commercial and industrial HVAC service provider, is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and ready to take on a vital role within our accounting department. You'll work closely with our Accounting Team to manage daily financial operations while having opportunities for professional growth and development. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Accounting or Finance degree is preferred!
- 4+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, GP, or any accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
Nice To Haves
- Experience with construction or service industry accounting is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and customer billing
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations and financial reporting
- Supervise the collections process, resolve payment issues, and ensure timely cash receipts
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for financial documents
- Support payroll processing and documentation
- Coordinate with vendors and customers to resolve account discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Generate and distribute various financial reports as needed
