About The Position

With a commitment to excellence and a track record of success, we seek a dedicated Accounting Specialist to join our Client Accounting Services (CAS) team in Southern Indiana. In this role you will support the complete accounting lifecycle—from transaction processing and payroll through month‑end close and financial reporting—while partnering with clients to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial information.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or public accounting
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop
  • Experience in a full‑service CAS or outsourced accounting environment
  • Hands‑on payroll processing experience preferably for multiple clients
  • Well-organized, able to multi-task and prioritize, attentive to detail and possess solid interpersonal communications skills.
  • Familiarity with payroll tax filings and year‑end compliance
  • Ability to manage recurring deadlines across multiple clients
  • Foundational understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard office applications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Provide Accounting and Payroll support to our clients across a wide array of industries.
  • Process client payroll accurately and on established schedules.
  • Maintain payroll records, earnings, deductions, benefits, and accruals.
  • Assist with payroll tax filings, quarterly reports, and year‑end forms (W‑2s, 1099s).
  • Coordinate payroll data collection and approvals with client contacts.
  • Support compliance requirements and escalate issues or timing risks as needed.
  • Maintain client general ledgers, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close procedures for CAS clients.
  • Support cash flow tracking, account analysis, and balance sheet integrity.
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop as primary accounting platforms.
  • Assist with QuickBooks setup, file maintenance, chart‑of‑accounts structure, and account mapping.
  • Serve as a day‑to‑day contact for routine client accounting and payroll requests.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively with clients.
  • Collaborate with CAS team members to meet recurring deadlines and service commitments.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with firm quality standards.
  • Perform various other duties to support the continued growth and success of the CAS team.
