About The Position

As a key member of the Accounting Department, the Accounting Supervisor oversees daily Accounts Payable (AP) and Inventory functions to ensure all processes are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal controls and applicable federal and state regulations. This role supports the Sr. Financial Reporting Manager in achieving departmental goals by coordinating AP processing, inventory control, month-end close activities, accounting journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. The Accounting Supervisor partners with Human Resources and other departments to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure a high level of guest service in alignment with minimum guest service expectations.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience processing large accounts payable cycles (>150 checks per week).
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience or extensive knowledge of accounting operations plus comparable leadership experience or training.
  • In depth knowledge of accounts payable and inventory administration processes, procedures and best practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state wage and tax laws and regulations.
  • Expertise in General Ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and preparation/review of journal entries, including accrual calculations.
  • In depth understanding of how accounts payable and inventory drives accounting and general ledger transactions.
  • Experience in processing of electronic tax filing.
  • Any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties of the position.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Accounting and inventory systems knowledge.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable Operations: Ensure accurate and timely disbursements, including review of invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs.
  • Inventory Control Oversight: Supervise inventory system setup and ongoing maintenance to ensure accurate configuration, tracking, and compliance with established controls.
  • System Management & Process Improvement: Serve as a functional expert for AP and inventory systems/modules; ensure systems remain current on updates and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, compliance, and best practices.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Awareness: Stay current on accounting-related regulatory requirements; ensure AP and inventory procedures align with applicable rules, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Audit & Quality Control: Process, maintain, and audit AP and inventory records to ensure accuracy and timely payment for goods and services received.
  • Reporting & 1099 Administration: Prepare and/or review accurate and timely reporting, including general ledger reporting and annual 1099 processing.
  • Reconciliations: Perform and/or review monthly, quarterly, and annual balancing and reconciliation processes, including AP, employee receivables, COGS-related accounts, and other assigned accounts.
  • General Ledger & Journal Entries: Prepare and/or review journal entries for actuals and accruals; ensure proper accounting treatment and support month-end close activities.
  • Vendor Relations & Issue Resolution: Work with external agencies/vendors to research and resolve discrepancies; coordinate information needed to resolve system or payment issues.
  • Policy & Procedure Management: Maintain and update Accounting policies and procedures related to AP, inventory, and associated controls.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, develop, train, and motivate the Accounting team to meet established goals, improve performance, and optimize efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in interdepartmental meetings to improve processes, ensure alignment, and strengthen internal partnerships.
  • Department Support: Backup and assist other Accounting personnel as needed to meet deadlines and ensure smooth department operations. Perform additional duties as assigned.
