About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling payment discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a good understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma and minimum of 3 year of relevant experience. Coursework in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Experience with accounting software (Sage 300 and Doclink) is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and processing.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and team members.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly with identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with accounting software (Sage 300 and Doclink) is a plus.
  • Coursework in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments (checks, electronic payments) to vendors in accordance with company policies and payment terms.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions, ensuring that payments are accurately applied and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, or outstanding balances.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including documentation for audits.
