Responsible for processing invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 1 year of accounts payable experience
• Understanding of basic accounting including debits and credits
• Must have a strong work ethic and a high level of integrity
• Must be willing to work in a team environment and independently
• Detail-oriented
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Verify general ledger coding and obtain proper approval of invoices before processing for payment
• Batch and enter invoices into the Accounts Payable system with the correct due dates and discounts taken
• Check batches for correct payee and amount before posting to system
• Research questions concerning payment status of invoices and communicate with outside vendors and employees
• Document payments and maintain records for IRS record retention purposes
• Research and resolve issues concerning payment statuses to avoid late fees and past due notices
