Position Summary: Reporting to the Administrative Director, manages all the required Activities Programs for the Chalet according to Federal and State Regulations. Verbalizes and/or demonstrates knowledge of activities essential to age specific care for the adult through geriatric population, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Infant ( ) Pediatric ( ) Adults (x) and Geriatrics (x) Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, staff meetings, in-services/workshops and successful completion and maintenance of required certifications of specialty areas. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines for skilled nursing, sub-acute care. Development of interpersonal skills and relationships in order to effectively manage and motivate the continuum of skilled care services. Responsible for organized Activities Program. Proven ability to problem-solve on multiple levels with effective outcomes. Ability to process information from 2 multiple sources and levels in order to provide effective leadership. Demonstrates the ability to work independently at all levels. Ability to organize and systematize various concept. Conducts business both honestly and ethically while being sensitive to all affected Demonstrates the ability to listen and utilize suggestions when appropriate from subordinates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 36 hours state approved activity director course
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work in a union environment.
  • Two years’ experience in a 100+ bed community, SNF preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Current Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Current California CNA certificate preferred
