Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in the respective or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Availability to teach on-campus daytime classes required.
  • Must be either a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • The preferred applicant will have teaching experience at the community college level in one or more of the following: music appreciation, the history of jazz, the history of rock and roll, and music in world cultures.
  • Experience and/or desire to engage in distance learning is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom and online instruction in music history and theory.
  • Evaluate student performance.
  • At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
