About The Position

USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app Internal Candidate Identified The Research Assistant will devote 85% of their time on building and establishing Bioinformatic Pipelines that will use techniques in systems biology to connect different -omics data such as microbiome to metabolome and/or metabolome to transcriptome. These pipelines will then be used by the lab in analyzing several -omics data that are currently being generated as part of R15 grant. The rest of the time, they will be involved in regular lab maintenance, feeding and maintaining Daphnia cultures. Please be advised that this position is supported by external sponsor funding. As such, continued employment in this role is contingent upon the availability of those external funds. If, for any reason, the sponsor funding is reduced or discontinued, employment may be subject to modification or termination in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Biology or related field
Basic Laboratory Techniques that include but not limited to Daphnia culture and maintenance, algae culture and maintenance, maintenance and initiation of generational cultures, making growth media and proper documentation of daily activities in lab notebook
Optimization of new laboratory protocols
