The Cure Waste Administrative Coordinator utilizes administrative support skills and project management skills to assist with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of Cure Waste activities contributing to the development and success of an AMHS department. This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and operational related tasks such as facilitating daily operational needs, perform all Cure Waste waste management operations, waste disposal preparation, performing reporting duties in support of data analytics, and providing direct support to Safety Manager for EH&S and EH&S management. The role and responsibilities support operational activities to ensure all Wastestream is managed effectively and efficiently. The position has direct responsibility of supporting Cure Waste operations regarding waste collection, inventory resupply, coordinating with vendor on Wastestream needs (operational issues, pick-ups and resupply needs). The Coordinator may interact and communicate with a wide variety of individuals throughout the organization, such as department/unit managers, vendors, other AMHS staff, AMC medical and college research professionals. Performs personnel functions, ensure personnel attend required training, and assist Safety Manger ensure shift covearge is maintained per schedule, holiday and vacation. Assist Safety Mager track yearly mandatory training, licensing and employee annual health completion dates. Ensure supply inventory is mainatined, prepares and submits Cure Waste orders office supplies EH&S Sr. Tech. Maintains department contact lists. Submits requests for computer repairs, servicenow request to telecommunications for reassignment of zone phones and order submissions as needed. Responsible for maintenance of all equipment including placing service calls, ensure Equipment PM & inventory is maintained. Works with environmental services to ensure Cure Waste designated area is cleaned per schedule. Works with environmental services and leadership to ensure Cure Waste workflow operates effectively & efficiently. Collaborate with EVS management team to monitor, retrain and notify supervisors for EVS personnel on related safety concerns and issues. Reports on safety concerns and operational needs to Hazardos Material Safety Manager/ EH&S mangment. Assists Safety Manger for coordinating department recognition events, planning, ordering, and execution. Assist Safety Manger & Sr. Tech for coordinating any moves; relocations; re-engineering of space to accommodate workflow needs (example, trash, furniture, recycling, RMW, Universal waste & pathology or other identified waste streams). Support other functional areas and members of the organization’s leadership team with special projects and tasks as needed Additional Cure Waste Specific Operation Duties: Forklift: perform daily inspections, operate forklift safely. Cardboard Bale Unit: operate baler, transport cardboard bales (forklift). Universal Waste: collect batteries, Prep e-waste for recycling, batteries, light bulbs and white good products. Compactor (trash): perform daily bay area cleaning, ensure Deodorizer unit works properly and has chemical, operate compactor safely (report issue to Sr. Tech and notify vendor/facility), follow key-control & secure compactor policy, collaborate with EVS and vendor to ensure, efficient & effective waste removal operations, Continue to help educate EVS on prior compactor use and notify manager of retraining needs or safety concerns. Shredding (PHA/HIPPA): operate shredder safely, collaborate with grounds crew and ensure safe use, notify supervisor off safety concerns or retraining needs, practice hard drive shredder awareness. Bio-Waste Operations: (1) Sharps bin, support and ensure vendor and EVS workflow is effective. Assist in segregation, loading onto the trailer and sharps drop of upon EH&S management direction. (2) Red bag waste, ensure segregation and follow maldisposal reporting procedures when EVS brings waste down to Cure Waste. Cure Waste loads onto trailer. (3) Radioactive waste, use Geiger counter to flag and ensure segregation of radioactive material (activated by sensors or gauger counter) for Radiation Safety. Pathology Watse: picks up path waste per schedule.
